: General relativity states that gravitational waves propogate at the speed of light. : How can the gravitational effect of a black hole escape if light can't? Maybe gravity waves eminate from just outside the event horizon? If gravity is viewed as the warping of space, then gravitational waves resulting from this warping come into existence at the edge of the ev. |
