:The escape velocity only defines the velocity needed by a body to reach so called free space. It does not indicate the gravitational force or pull at a specific location. Given different sized objects the escape velocities will be different. Defining a point at which the escape velocities are the same, the gravitational pull of the larger object will be less at that point.
