:It appears that the second law of thermodynamics is broken in black holes. We are able to calculate the entropy of a black hole both from semi-classical quantum mechanics and from the first principles of string theory and it's much less than the entropy of the matter absorbed by the black hole. There is a debate currently in scientific circles as to where the entropy went. My personal opinion is that it is destroyed along with all matter in the central singularity of the black hole where conditions are restored to the primordial unified field which is a vacuum.
