: As I understand it (and it's possible that I'm wrong), The reason for photon entanglement arises from the theories put forth by Louis Victor, prince de Broglie, in his work with electromagnetic radiation, especially photoic radiation. From his work it was derived that the anti-particle of a photon is a photon, and that if they ever should meet, rather than destroy each other, they pair up. The reason the subject arises in black hole discussions is that if such a pairing passed close enough to a black hole that ONE, but NOT the other, of the photons were "sucked" into the event horizon, it could, at least theoretically, break the pairing allowing the other to escape free. : : : Does anybody know where I can find some info on photon entanglement. This is for a seminar in physics class so I would like to know how exactly you entangle a photon.
