: say i chase a photon of v=c, and increace my : velocity u till i catch the little baster--- : how long will it take to do so?

An infinite period of time. Due to relativistic influences, you shall never reach your goal.

T=t_*Gamma Factor Time Dialation will become infinite as you approach the speed of light; never will you actually achieve that velocity--

m=m_*Gamma Factor E=mc2

ergo- an infinite some of energy is required to do so; similar is the suggestion that your length will shrink to nothing =you shall cease to exist--

L=L_*(Gamma Factor)-1

and thus is the amazing conclusion (more or less) which led Einstein to the development of the STR.
