: Gravity does not require matter. It requires : mass/energy. Gravity requires only Mass. If energy was a factor then Gravity would increase as a mass speeds up. Your idea would lead to a variable gravitational field as the Earths velocity around the sun varies in its orbit. This would be easy to measure as the velocity of a falling object would change in a cyclical manner. No such change is seen hence velocity and energy do not effect Gravity. : For instance two photons moving in : opposite directions have a system mass, but obviousy they are : not matter. But do photons create a gravitational field? Photons have no mass, only energy that can be converted to mass via E=mc^2, and so do not curve spacetime to create a gravitaional field. |
