General relativity is non linear, in other words the gravitational field interacts with itself and with all other fields so there is no need for the fields to be in causal contact with the mass that originally created them. In quantum gravity, gravitons are virtual particles and are not constrained to the speed of light, so they are able to escape the hole's event horizon. |
