Obviously, no one will ever see a black hole due to its very nature. : Well, there has been very strong evidence recently for black holes, including orbital speeds of matter at the centers of galaxies that can be explained only by extremely massive objects in very small spaces (like billion-star masses in the space of a few hundred cubic light years; the only good explanation is a black hole), as well as a bunch of other stuff. It is not indisputable, but as of now black holes as theory are practically as good as black holes as fact. |
