There is two things, matter and "anti matter". and when matter and anti matter come together they join up to make nothing. so if there was a million lbs of matter and a million lbs of antimatter brought together the result would be nothing... antimatter is basically the same exact thing as matter but it is just "negative".
OK so knowing that, scientists all think that when the big bang happened there was matter and antimatter released but **they think there was more matter than antimatter** hence that's why we are here... at least that's what is widely accepted to the scientific world.
Black holes... there's many different theories about this. some think that they just might be a superdense section of space... or that its the dark side of a wormhole... the list goes on..
BUT I say.. The Universe has the exact same amount of matter as antimatter. and that given enough time there's just going to be nothing. which gives a perfectly good explanation of black holes. all matter close to one goes there and gets sucked up into nothing, or expressed as a simple equation, Matter(in the form of a galaxy) + X(unknown) = Nothing. there's got to be a collection of antimatter somewhere near black holes.
that's just one of my theories....
