If we are close to a massive object which is spinning ‘space’ will be rotated with the massive object. To remain ‘motionless’ would require a change in velocity or acceleration. If I assume the galaxy qualifies as a massive object then its motion must move space which in turn will affect mass objects which do not move with it. In this way an acceleration must be experienced by a mass if the galaxy accelerates.
