Matter cannot collapse to infinity. It will undergo a phase change before it can ever reach infinity.

You sound like you just cannot give up a concept that you are invested in. Seems to be the same problem with many physicists. Those who have done SST for years just cannot give up on it. Einstein even had that problem.
