Drop A Basketball From Height X

measure the time it takes to land on the court.

then drop a bowling ball from height X and measure the time it takes to land on the court and crash through the boards.

run like hell and hide somewhere that the coach can't find you. compare the times the two falls took. the two times will be the same.

try it... uhh well not in a gymnasium, maybe the back yard or somewhere.

as far as a logical description of why this is so it beats the heck outa me. i think it has something to do with the gravitational influence of being in the neighborhood of a massive object (say the earth), the objects own intrinsic inertia and the gravitational influence of the rest of the massive objects in the universe.

like you say:
