1) I thought Nicholas is a student, not a working professional. But anyway, is this a major
problem which working physicists experience?
2) Some folks make their living giving advice
about manners, but Nicholas is not one. So
apparently, if I knew how to be condescending or smug on this topic, it would not be extremely rude.
3) Condescending and smug attitudes were not
evident to me in Duane's writing (to whom Nicholas
addressed this)... Certainly these attitudes are evident in Nicholas' tone.
