You might want to see what physicists have to say about it? Any inconsistancy is not between quantum mechanics and special relativity, Dirac showed how to meld those two seamlessly (Relativistic quantum mechanics. The foundation for all quantum field theory.). The inconsistancy is between GR and QM (that being why quantum gravity is the flavor of the last twenty years or so).
