I didn't mean to insinuate that you were minimizing Einstein's work, classify you as a crackpot, or to classify Einstein as a God. I didn't even make any comparison to Newton. I meant to say that the derivation for SR was available to many physicists, at that time, but Einstein had the 'nuggets' to write the paper and challenge a paradigm that many suspected was flawed. GR reflects the true brilliance of Einstein's ability to conceptualize and any help he had formalizing (modeling) 'the concept' was duly noted and reflects the cooperative nature of the physics community (which certainly still exists today).
