had the intestinal fortitude to put SR together. The information was available for all those who 'waffled' in the 'red zone'. The truly amazing thing which Einstein did was to find the general solution for relativity (incorporate gravity). Searching for ways to minimize this accomplishment is the pastime of crackpots.
