Spiraling is occurring in the sense that pathways through space are spirals. If we are on a rim
that turns (Milky Way) and the rim is also moving
in relation to other objects, the spiral is abstract. It is not actually occurring in present.
Shapes which are visually evident as spirals are a different spiral. They are exactly a distribution plot of associated objects which have the two kinds of motion mentioned in the previous paragraph.

Not clear if this occurs inside black holes.
A magnet interrupts the floating iron dust particles spiraling in air currents. A black hole might interrupt any previous pattern.
