If the entire future of the universe is preordained, then perhaps the all-encompassing conciousness some refer to as "God" is far beyond anything he or she has been perceived to be so far.

Because, as long as there is interaction between the forces of "nature", there will be an ever-increasing amount of entropy. For those who don't know this word, it simply means "choas" or "disorder". If you read Hawking's "A Brief History of Time," you can get a better idea of this phenomenon.

Once you grasp this concept, it becomes far less palettable that there is a predetermined "outcome" of the universe. For every second it exists, it gets less manageable, less predictable, and certainly less "predeterminable."

Just my two cents, and that's about all I had. ;)
