There are satellites that have an orbit altitude so high that the orbital velocity of the satelite divided by its distance to the center of the earth equals the rotational velocity of the earth. Such satelittes then stay above the same position on the earth, far above the earth's equator. Actually for reasons that I forget, such satelites trace small figure eights if their paths are projected on the ground. So on the average geosynch sats stay above the same point on the equator.

That may be an even better example of your anti-gravity and it's one that has been taken advantage of for some time.
