I did an interesting experiment once, glued 2 rectangular ceramic magnets together N-poles facing each other(used 5 minute epoxy with a c-clamp)after glue drys and magnets stick together, wind about 300 turns #30 magnet wire length-wise around glued magnets and connect a pulsed d.c. power supply across coil, this pulse modulated the magnets field pattern and produces a very slight bending of laser beam shot across the axis of magnets glued pole face joints, also this produces a subtle effect with the nerves in a hand placed a few inch's away, like a slight tingling in the finger tips, i stopped playing around with this thing after i noticed i was sleeping 10-12 hours a day! followed by insomnia for weeks after that, no joke.
Magnetism is multi-dimensional, it travels faster than light, this is why a magnetic field penetrates anything, whereas light is stopped by any non-transparency material.
Keep in mind the power is ony a few watts
