Mechanistic Determinism

Personally I feel there are two possibilities. Either the future of the universe is preordained, for lack of a better word, or it is random. Every event in the universe would follow either cause-and-effect, or random quantum events would influence them. Including life. Unless there is something special about life that seperates it from the rest of the universe, I don't see how free will could exist. |
