In calculus, we learned that as you take the summation of (0.3 + 0.03 + 0.003 + 0.0003 + ...) - [I'd write it out with Sigma and etc. but I don't know how to represent it on a board]

As I was saying, we take that summation from n=1 to infinity, we see that it adds up to exactly 1/3.

If we take 0.9 + 0.09 + 0.009 + ... as infinitum, it would add up to exactly 1.

I don't really know how to be much clearer, as it is hard for me to describe such mathematical concepts, but I hope that helps and if you need more clarification, just ask!
