So you're saying hell is like a time out for eternity?
I think that hell is like a dreadful nightmare.
Good people with a positive conscience are left to remember their lives in a positive light. Therefore they "go to sleep" (die) and have pleasant dreams.
Negative people (rapists, murderes, thieves) "go to sleep" with bad memories, and are left to feel guilty for what they did. Thier dreams consist of resentment, guilt, fear of what's to come, sadness, hopelessness of ever "waking up" again, emotional pain. They keep wondering "when will it all end?" but it never does.... And what's worse, is that they all have to live with eachother. Therefore they can't trust anybody or have any friends or companions. In hell, everybody is your enemy, and you constantly have to watch your back. The nightmarish figures you dreaded in life (bloody corpses, polterguists, demonic apparitions) are all tricks of the mind and imagination. But in hell, there is no distinction between "real" and "imagined". You know the saying "don't even think about it!"? well when it comes to hell, you better hope you don't even think about anything, because you can't tell which thoughts are real and which are imagined... they all come back to haunt you.
It's like life is the movie we watch before we go to sleep, and we dream about whatever is on our mind at the time. If you make your life out to be a "bad movie", then you will have "bad dreams" when you go to sleep (die).
Imagine a life where whatever you thought came true....
What would you think about? Having a pretty wife? having a lot of money? being able to sprout wings and fly?....
Now imagine a life where all the good thoughts were filterred out, and only the chance bad thoughts ever manifested as reality... Now imagine that you are a bad person, and tend to have more negative thoughts than good... such is hell. |
