Skin effect is a solution of Maxwell equations in conductors: sigma (depth of e/m field in metal) = sqrt(pi/(frequency x conductivity x permeability). Substitute numbers for Cu, and you'll see that it starts to be noticeable at radio frequencies (100 kHz and up), so it does not affect electric current of sound frequencies (0.1-10 kHz) yet.
