Definition Manipulation

Dolphin,

I do not define "knowing" as merely "having that experience." If I had been in the WTC disaster last week, and lucky enough to have survived, I wouldn't confuse the experience with a notion that I somehow possessed more "knowledge" than anyone else, except for the personal, subjective experience itself.

Sure, it looks neat to manipulate 'subjective experience' into a working definition for 'knowledge,' but this is the very definition of a cognitive miser.

Introspection is a great personal tool, but it's not very effective in scientific matters.

Thanks for the input,

-LH
