What About When I Turn Of My Computer....?

There has got to be given periods of time where nobody is logged on to this web sight... During those times, while my computer is off, and all electronic activity has susided ...(no more chemical interactions with electron beam, emission of photons, etc...). Do the letters exist then?

I wanted to avoid this area of philosophy because to me it seems somewhat silly ...but... if the processes that power my CRT subside when it's off, and it should so happen that the physical properties that give rise to "letters" don't exist "for the time being".... then in what state are the letters? A "non-physical, potential possibility of becoming physicaly existant" state?

The reason I called that silly, is because it amounts to being closely equivilant to saying, "Does my desk exist when I'm not looking at it?" But then again, it may ACTUALY be feesible.... if you look at it from the view point that my desk's wave-function pervades the whole of spacetime during any given moment that I don't observe it. In this sense, the desk (just like the letters), has the potential to become physical, but for the time being it exists as "information". This is the picnciple upon which the concepts of "quantum entanglement" and "non-locality" were built, (are you familiar with nonlocality?).

And I have one more subject...
What is your take on my initail statement that, "I have never met a single person that dreamed backwards"....? Any possible connections with the logical flow of events and "causality"? Does time exist in our dreams? I find this troubling, because I've had dreams that spanned the length of DAYS while I was asleep for 8 hours, and yet never seen something "happen" in a dream before it was "caused" by something to happen. It's like "non-relativistic" time dialation.
