Been looking over the 'Rain' metric I posted? Your right there is no infinitie at the event horizon for the freely falling astronaut. Even though the Schwarzcild and rain metric has an infinity at r=0 you can integrate
dt= - r1/2dr/(2M)1/2
and find the finite time horizon to crunch

tmeters=(4/3)Mmeters

or

tseconds=6.57x10-6(M/MSun)

or for any spherical shell outside the horizon to r=0

t2 rain-1 rain=(1/3)(2/M)1/2(r3/21-r3/22)
