Problem With Axiom Definition:

Well, not the definition, but the example.

"If a=b, and if a=c, then b=c." If used in logic (the basis for mathematics), it represents a formal fallacy.

Ex:
All (D)ogs are (M)ammals.
All (D)ogs are (Q)uadrepedal.

Therefore All (M)ammals are (Q)uadrepedal.

A Modus Ponens would have worked fine:
All D is M
All M is Q
Therefore all D is Q.
(Notice the premises need not be true for the logical argument to be valid).
