If I remember correctly it was Fermi (??the bloke who ran the first nuclear pile in 1942)who stated that the particulars of that branch of physics were of no concern to him.

Theykilled almost everyone that messed with them though didn't they? Starting with both the Curies.

I'd leave well enough alone if I were you. (So would you if you were me!)
