Interesting comparison of Edward and Alexander.

A mathematical universe is of course much more likely, in my mind, to be the creation of an intelligence; whereas mathematics that flows from nature, or natural laws is lesslikely to require intelligence, just the opposite of what I think the two of you have been arguing in the past.

Personally I think my guess is as good as yours. But reading Chaitin and following the math needed for string theory suggests a more math like universe, at least during its creation, whereas quantum mechanics suggests a more mystical one, where anything could exist in nature as it presently is.

We really know so little on the ultimate questions.
