My Universe is very homogenious, if you take into consideration gravity which created stars, galaxies, galaxy clusters, etc out of VERY UNIFORM (10^-5) hydrogen distribution. Look for COBE and other data from early Universe - extremely uniform in all directions.

Of course, gravity creates planets, stars, galaxies, clusters, superclusters, etc. - you have to take into account that universe is 15 billion years old - more than enough tiime to create stars and other stuff.

On Earth you also have local mountains and valleys (is it surprizing?) but on the large scale Earth is very symmetric. It simply is consequense of symmetry of space and conditions around it.
