Yeah, it works. I would not say very well, because as government loses control, then along with positive things somehow more and all kind of variety of negative things start flourishing too. Unleashing power of greed (money) makes the golden rule (=the guy with the gold makes the rules) to be the moral rule # 1 in such "democratic" and "free market" society.

But not everyone likes this rule. Some prefer to see corrupting leaders, mafia tycoons or sometimes drug dealers not as a role models because they prosper and occypy important ruling posts, but rather put behind bars.

Unfortunately, freedom and justice are to some degree mutually exclusive states of human societies - the more freedom the less order and justice and vice versa.
