This research favors a supersymmetric standard model. This result was not unexpected. Physicists working on theory of quantum gravity such as M-theory (superstring) are hoping to get many more results which favor supersymmetry. This result was from low energy experiment so it is not a breakthrough for high energy supersymmetric particles predicted by string theory but it is good.
This next page explains what supersymmetry is.
