The problem with God is that so far we do not need Him to make the Universe work, and now scientists work on Universe Making scenario itself(inflation, pre-inflation, etc.), which will push His presence well beyond Plank time, i.e. BEFORE time-space as we know it existed at all. And there are even some models of false vacuums creating space-time and universes spontaneousely, without any input from Pre-God(s).

So as we learn more, we need less and less God(s).

As for digitality of the Universe, it has been proven that on deepest level (we know today) it is digital (quantum), but those "digits" are each a "chunk" of a wave, thus their position and momentum are inversely proportional to each other (thus the uncertainty principle).
