The assumption (or 'speculation') is just fine (and poetic) but there is no evidence to consider it a scientific fact. Of course, defining 'life' is not always easy (e.g. there is an ongoing debate as to whether viruses are alive or not).

So, it cannot be a scientific conclusion but it might be a nice philosophy...one that generates sympathy & respect for all aspects of the universe. FWIW, some types of pantheists (e.g., Einstein?) equate the whole universe and all its characteristics, with 'God'.
