Actually according to some fairly recent string physics, all elementary particles are indistinguishable from limiting (think that's the word for it) black holes. These are black holes as they exist just before they radiate away all there energy. Apparently all black holes radiate energy. Early in the big bang almost everything had to be like a black hole because the universe mass density was so high. And supposedly most of these black holes ended up as elementary particles. But who knows for sure.
