No one knows for sure what dark matter is. Could be neutrinos. Could be weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPS). They tie in nicely with superstring theory. Could be cold(ish) baryonic matter such as brown dwarves (MACHOS), though there are problems with Black Body Nucleosynthesis. Could be primordial black holes, perhaps microscopic ones. Guess your right, could be anything.
