sound waves are mechanical waves ie: they need a medium for them to travel through ...

i remeber seeing the footage of some moonwalkers communicating by contacting their helmets which serves as a sufficient medium ....

electromagnetic waves such as light, gamma rays, and all those radiations are non-mechanical waves that possess the ability to travel through the vacuum of space, thats why we are able to see and detect them ....

so i dont think there would be any sound in space ...
