i agree with all that was written, and like what was said a black hole isnt at all black. thanx to the magnificent STephen Hawking who successfully integrated quantum mechanics with general theory of relativity in this subject matter.

u mite have heard of the uncertainty principle which states that an object's exact posn and velocity can not be both accurately measured. in other words, we cannot have anything with 0 position and 0 velocity, as in this case both the posn and vel are exactly predicted. so instead of 0, we have things that fluctuate just above and below 0, knonwn as te 'antimatter'. every known existent particle pairs up with its antiparticle, and when they approach the event horizon of a black hole, the antimatter gets sucked in by gravity at an ealier stage than its buddy, therefore the left over particle is 'emitted' into space along with other particles in the form of radiation, this phenom can therefore be observed, therefore a black hole ISNT really black! (this is only a brief outline of what Hawking deliveres to its audience in his masterpiece 'A brief history of time'. i highly recommend everyone out there whos interested in cosmology (esp black holes) to read this book. it uses no jargon, and employs everyday anaologies that are comprehensible. i red it in the beginning of this year when i was still 16, and i can honestly say that it has changed my life, as my ambition now is to become an astrophysicist, and hopefully i'll discover the first black hole :o)
