After more thought about this subject, I have determined that although it is true that the light would slow as a star approached the event horizon, the speed would be considerably slower than the speed needed to get the freezing effect.
At some point this would have to happen but it wouldn`t happen until after it had already broken the plane. Therefore the light that was still being emited wouldn`t have the escape velocity to ever be seen by anything on the other side of the event horizon. So once the star passed that point it would visably dissapear. So my original theory is incorrect in my opinion. Any feedback?
