Imagine a sun so large and so massive that it is not strong enough to hold itself out anymore and its hydrogen fires aren`t the big cheese anymore so it begins to collapse in on itself and it is so massive there is so much gravity and other stuff, like cute little planets and stars and suns they all are getting sucked inward upon all that other stuff falling in toward the collapsing star`s belly, the gravity suckling it all in until not even light has the escape velocity to escape so that from the outside this massive gravitational singularity can`t be seen because that collapsed star sucks everything in even it`s own light so it just a blackhole
