Perhaps you are trying to convince yourself and more importantly other people that time travle is possible.

It is simple. Technology has advanced exponentially with time. If we are conservative and assume technology develops linearly with time, then at some point in time, time travel will be possible. It is just a matter of time. If it is possible then surely they may be a time traveller from the future amongst us now?
