: Everyone out there understands E=mc^2. : So, this equations postulates that energy becomes mass when it travels at the speed of light squared. It actually means that mass is a form of energy. :That is what a black hole is, theoretically. It's at the point where because it has so much mass, it has an incredible amount of gravity. That gravity makes any light that comes near it acceletare, thus making it go, eventually, the speed of light squared. Actually the remote coordinate speed for light near a black hole's horizon is Less than c, not greater. But locally the speed of the light is still c. :And so, this energy becomes mass, adding to the mass of the black hole. Which makes it all paradoxial because it ends up increasing the gravitational pull on light, etc. Therefore more light accelerates and becomes mass, and so on and so forth. I wouldn't call it a paradox. |
