: : How about a demonstration of how easy it is.

I wouldn't have said easy, but doable yes. The geometry of space-time can be artificially manipulated. The idea behind the Alcubierre/VanDenBroeck warp bubble is to create a time-tike geodesic within an otherwise minkowskian space-time in which an object following the geodesic will be observed by remote observers to be traveling faster than c. Gravitational length contractions are then introduced to reduce the energy magnitude requirements for maintaining that space-time geometry.
