I agree with you in many ways, I don't know what what makes the speed of light so special that nothing can travel faster than it, or if it does then you can travel through time. They used to think it was not possible for a human to pass the speed of 30mph, then they did not believe it was posible for a human to pass the speed of sound, but we managed it, so who's to say what speeds we will not be able to achieve in 1000 years. One of Einstien's theory's states that when you approach the speed of light time begins to slow down until at the point where you pass the speed of light you can actualy travel back in time, so theoritically you can arrive at your destination point before leave. I don't want to attempt to dissaprove a great man's work as I believe he had the right idea. However, perhaps instead of time slowing down it is in fact energy slowing down, but it never actualy stops. Here is an example of what I mean, take the number 1 and say this is the pace at which energy moves when an object is moving at 1mph. If you move four times as fast the pace of the energy halves (i.e. it is now at 0.5) Then say the object moves at four times this speed the energy halves again (i.e. is now at 0.25), you begin to notice that this number will never equal 0, that is to say the energy will never stop it will just get smaller and smaller. This would prove that time travel is not possible. This is just a theory like any other so you have got to at least keep an open mind.
