It would seem that this infinite number of points which prevent collision only exist within the world of mathematics. One would reach a certain point in this halfing process because of the energy requirements needed to continue. Every object exerts a force on other objects(friction). It is when these forces come in contact that the train would experience physical damages due to the intense of collision of each train's opposing force.
