IN STUDYING THIS PROBLEM FOR SOME TIME (SINCE 1976)TWO ITEMS HAVE COME UP. FIRST SOLVE THE OLD EQUATION E=mc2 FOR "TIME" TO GET AN UNDERSTANDING OF HOW OR WHAT A "SECOND" LOOKS LIKE. HINT - "c" IS A DISTANCE PER UNIT TIME. I LIKE TO USE MILES/SECOND. IN WATCHING SEVERAL EXPERIMENTS ON THE SUBJECT ON FILM COMES TO MIND WHERE WE TRY TO PUSH AN "ELECTRON" FASTER THAN THE SPEED OF LIGHT AND THEY SHOW THE "INFINITE POWER" INCREASE. THE NEXT WAS WATCHING THE DISCOVERY CHANNEL AND "SCIENCE OF THE IMPOSSIBLE" WHERE MIGUEL ALCUBERI(SP?)A MEXICAN PHYSICIST WORKING IN GERMANY. MAKING A LONG STORY SHORT, HIS CALCULATIONS SHOW THAT IS YOU DISTORT SPACE-TIME IN FROM OF YOU USING AN ARTIFICIAL "GRAVITY" DEVICE (WITH THE PILOT INSIDE A GRAVITY BUBBLE) THAT YOU ESSENTIALLY PULL YOURSELF FASTER THAN THE SPEED OF LIGHT. IF YOU THINK OF IT, THE MORE ENERGY (SPEED OF MOTION) YOU APPLY TO A SYSTEM, THE MORE "MASSIVE" THE OBJECT APPEARS TO THOSE IN NORMAL SPACE-TIME. IN ACUTUALITY YOU HAVE MADE A GRAVITY DEVICE MORE "MASSIVE" ON THE LEADING END AND LESS MASSIVE ON THE TRAILING END. HERE LIES THE KEY... THE REASON YOU CANNOT PUSH AN ELECTRON FASTER THAN THE SPEED OF LIGHT IS THAT THE ENERGY TO THE SYSTEM IS COMING FROM A DIFFERENT SPACE-TIME THAN THE ELECTRON. IF THE ENERGY AND THE MASS IT WAS PUSHING WERE TO COME FROM THE SAME SPACE-TIME THE APPARENT VELOCITY INSIDE THE BUBBLE WOULD BE NEAR NORMAL, HOWEVER THE APPARENT VELOCITY OUTSIDE THE SPACE-TIME WOULD EXCEED THAT SPACE-TIME'S VELOCITY OF LIGHT. IT SHOULD BE STATED HERE THAT IN ORDER TO DESCRIBE A PARTICULAR SPACE-TIME SYSTEM YOU NEED LENGTH, WIDTH, HEIGHT, TIME, MASS, AND ENERGY. |
