: Try this: Take of piece of paper and think : up the pencil, put you pencil somewhere else on the : paper. You have to travel in space-time to get : somewhere else. This is why time travel is impossible.

: You cannot pick your pencil off the paper because : it is impossible to just "drop" out of space-time : and travel about freely (after all, we exist in space, : and would not exist elsewhere). If you can figure : out how to "drop" out of space-time and still exist, : then you can time travel. If you can figure it out, : (with real Physics), you're a genious!

I must be the genious you seek. Einstien's special theroy of Relativity provides an answer to forward time travel. Time Dilation occurs when an object approaches the speed of light. Time is not a constant in the universe. It is simply percieved by us. The only thing which makes the passing of time percievable to us is atrophy, or the decay of energy. What about the event horizon of a black hole, once on the inside of the EH , time becomes so quickened as you near the singularity that eons of time pass in nanoseconds. And of Tachyons ? These particles of zero mass and of infinite speed exist in all places at all times. They do so because having no mass, they can travel faster than c. If the special theroy of relativity provides time dilation for an object approaching c, then time must stop at c, and reverse at speeds greater than c. Since you simply stated that time travel was impossible (not specifing forward or backwards), I have proved with the special theroy of relativity that your assumption is wrong. But of course you must realize that time travel is only percieved by us to be 'time travel', when actually we have just used the physical laws of the universe to 'warp' and 'distort' time. Do some more research.
