How To Cancel An Infinity

String theory preceeds on the basis of avoiding infinities. The simple closed string theory avoids infinities by assuming the number of dimensions is 26. Any other number of dimensions leads to infinities.

Likewise, to create fermions like quarks, 6 dim must compactifiy and in addition, a set of supersymmetric partners are needed to cancel infinities that result from assuming 10 dim. Now to cancel an infinity, the two particles, the fermion and its supersymmetric partner are assumed to be entangled and act as one, all to avoid an infinity. There is no reason to decide that these fermions and supersymmetric partners are not still connected and entangled, all to avoid the infinity.

So this is much like the Preons that Smolin is invoking to create matter and dynamics in LQG. Preons are 3 stranded braids that end on all the physical particles of out world and connect to corresponding supersymmetrice partners in the world of Dark Matter that must be our souls.
