The dark matter should not disappear just because two galaxies collided. I personally prefer that dark matter does exist as its superfluid is a possible location of supernatural processes like heaven where there is no need to eat or sleep because there is no friction or energy expenditure. Right now the belief in dark matter is almost like a religion. Science hates to lose pillars of theoretical physics like Newton's laws and General Relativity. So scientists who say that dark matter is theoretical error are not paid attention to
